This was my very first 'postcard swap', or direct exchange of postcards with Postcrossing members. I spotted this postcard, the paining by Frans van Mieris (Morning toilette of a young woman) sent by one of the Postcrossers from Belarus. Later I found another 'mirror postcard', with a lesser known work by Rudolf Ernst (The Harem Bath - see behind the cut), and suggested to make an exchange.
Back side of the card:

Funny, but the above postcard turned to be a very peculiar one. It was, in fact, a promo-card of a certain recreational complex with a sauna (!) called Eco-Village (!) in Kazakhstan (!!!) (see below its back side):

But all in all, this exchange worked wonderfully! My correspondent found more 'mirror cards' in her collection, and
at the end I have received not only these two postcards, but eleven (11!) more. Below are these other cards that I have received:
Artemisia Gentileschi - David and Bathsheba (c.1640)

Edouard Manet - Nana (c.1877)

Edouard Manet - A Bar at the Folies-Bergere (c.1882)

Vladimir Makovsky - Declaration of love (c. 1891)

Three cards with the illustrations to Eugene Onegin , by Alexander Pushkin:
Pavel Sokolov - Eugene Onegin (c. 1882)

Elena Samokysh-Sudkovskaya - Eugene Onegin and Tatiana Larina (c.1911)

Elena Samokysh-Sudkovskaya - Eugene Onegin and Tatiana Larina at a Ball (c. 1882)

And four illustrations by Gennady Spirin to The Nose, by Nicolai Gogol

PS: This was an exchange of the blanc postcards, without stamps and messages. In return I have send a set of postcards with the works of French impressionists, mainly Renoir.
