About, of a kind
1 January 2030 00:00I started this blog in February 2019, to log the postcards that I receive, from Postcrossing and elsewhere, as well as the cards that I send myself. You can read the very first post here.
The purpose of the blog hasn't changed much since then, though the actual practices have evolved significantly. Earlier I had plans to write much longer, more detailed stories about all these postcards (so the name of this blog), and I even produced a few such stories. Yet partly because of the lack of time, but mainly because I like it more this way, I've decided to keep the posts short and simple, literally just 'logging' my postcard correspondence here.
Thus, don't expect to find any extensive content beyond the 'Read more' cuts in every post. Most often the 'tails' of the posts contain only the scans of the back (recto) sides of the cards, with post stamps and other visual features (but not the actual texts on the card, those are always blurred). Occasionally, I write a few words describing the post stamps or add personal reflections, but this is rare.
The theme of mirrors has always been prominent, and remains to be so; you can learn more about this subject in the same first post.
