Back side of the card:

Ryōkan (also called Ryokwan in English) was a Zen Buddhist monk and hermit, who became known for his esoteric poetry and also calligraphy.

The first stamp, issued in 1973, depicts Mount Haguro in the so called Quasi-National Park Bandai-Asahi:

The mountain is mostly known for its numerous shrines and old cedar trees.

The second stamp bears the mark 2000, but it was issued in 1999, as a New Year stamp for the year 2000.

The year 2000 was the year of Dragon, the stamp depicts this creature, made in form of folk toy.
